Old Grass Valley Methodist Church

First of all I want to thank the people that are giving so much of their time to help me put together this site. My first contact was with Vivian Todd who, while not knowing much of the history of the Church building was able to point me in a direction. Her advice has allowed this site to take shape. Thanks also to the individuals at the Sherman Historical Society Museum that were able to get me the old photo at the top of this page. I want to especially thank Sherry Kaseberg who has supplied me with a wealth of information and given me innumerable leads which I am currently following up on. As the site matures and grows with more information I am sure there will be many more thankyous to be handed out.

Since the church stopped holding services in 1946 or 1947 any of the adults that would have known the history of the church are no longer with us to share their knowledge of its history. Most all of the history and information on this site has been gleaned from the records of the Methodist Church conference that covered this region in the early 1900s as well as the Grass Valley Journal. Thanks again Sherry!

Please Check back often as I undertake this process of discovery to find out the history of the building and of the people who attended services here.
